Pseudo-Seki

For this work the cup forms are hammered into wet clay to create stoneware holders and causing cracks and distortions in the process. This spontaneity is in contrast to the precise and laborious making of the porcelain cups and wood wall mounts. The title of this series references Japanese suiseki stones, and their blend of organic beauty with design and craft.
